mount_smbfs only supports SMB1?

I've noted that mount_smbfs only supports SMB1 shares. Will there be support for SMB2/3 shares in the future?

I don't know of anyone working on that so I wouldn't count on it. You
could try the port sysutils/fusefs-smbnetfs.
